7 Statements that Autralians Believe:

1. There is no problem that cannot be overcome with better sporting facilities.

2. You don't have to know the rules to watch the game and you don't have to know the words to sing the song.

3. Everyone deserves a fair suck of the saveloy except in Sydney where there are a range of lifestyle options.

4. Among friends, alcohol is still a valid form of currency.

5. Everybody everywhere likes Australians and if they don't they can go and live somewhere else.

6. It is possible to become Australian by birth, marriage, immigration or celebrity.

7. There is nothing more Australian than spending time in somebody else's country.

Stolen from The Sydney Morning Herald response to John Howard's 7 Values of Australia. There are many other entries there, but this is the outstanding one for me.

Okay, I admit it, I had to look this one up. Aren't I a bad Australian? Apparently, it means basically 'a fair go'.
